CURLING TEAM TO HELP MAKE DREAMS COME TRUE
Winnipeg, MB – January 8, 2016: Pinty’s All-Star Curling Skins Game will be taking place in Banff over the weekend, and local Manitoba charity, The Dream Factory is proud to be a part of this amazing match, thanks to one of the world’s top ranked curling teams. Team McEwen will be representing The Dream Factory during the tournament and will be doing some fundraising for the organization at the same time.
For Team McEwen, The Dream Factory is a charity that is very close to their hearts.
“We were first introduced to The Dream Factory through a charity golf tournament in support of the organization in July 2015,” said Mike McEwen, Skip for Team McEwen. “John Trudel, the president of AFIG Financial Services, our team title sponsor, has a son who recently underwent cancer treatment, so we are really just happy to help out in any way and do our part to help such an amazing local organization who does so much to help Manitoba kids.”
“We feel so fortunate to be the charity of choice for Team McEwen at this exciting national event,” said Howard Koks, Executive Director of The Dream Factory. “AFIG Financial Services have been very good to us, raising over $10,000.00 at their golf tournament last summer, and we really appreciate that they continue to find amazing opportunities to include us and support our Dream Kids.”
Team McEwen is scheduled to play Saturday, January 9, 2016, at 9:00 pm EST, and potentially in the men’s final at 8:00 pm on Sunday, January 10, 2016. The team will be donating $1,000.00 to The Dream Factory from each game they play over the weekend, as well as donating their special edition Skins game jerseys to the organization.
